Dr. Keeling received his Bachelor of Science with Honours at the University of New Brunswick including a scholarship year at the University of Maine at Orono, USA. He completed a Masters of Science at UNB while studying abroad in Scotland. He spent two years at the University of Connecticut, USA, working on his PhD before switching to medicine where he complete his Doctor of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In 2000, Dr. Keeling was one of only four doctors accepted into dermatology residency training programs across Canada. He completed his Specialist Training at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, in 2005.
After being awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Dermatology, Dr. Keeling went on to do a further Fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery at McGill University where he trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the Gold Standard in North America for surgical management of Non-Melanoma Skin Cancers. There are less than thirty such specialists in Canada. Dr. Keeling has the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta approval to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery out of his private Non-Hospital Surgical Facility and maintains formal accreditation with the College of Alberta.
While in Montreal Dr. Keeling won the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. He also won the Canadian Dermatology Association Residents and Fellows Society Excellence in Teaching Award. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Dermatology at the University of Alberta in the Department of Medicine. He is the President of the Alberta Society of Dermatology and the President of the Section of Dermatology at the Alberta Medical Association. He continues his passion for teaching at Symmetry Dermatology by training Residents in Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology as well as Family Medicine residents and Medical Students interested in Medical and Surgical Dermatology.
Born and raised in St. Albert, Alberta, Dr. Chambers is proud to provide advanced dermatologic care to the community he calls home.
He completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Alberta followed by a Masters of Science at the University of Alberta, where his research focused on learning and memory. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alberta, receiving the prestigious Bullock Scholarship and developing a deep passion for Dermatology.
He was then accepted into the Dermatology Residency at the University of Alberta, here Dr. Chambers developed a passion for Mohs Micrographic Surgery and complex skin cancer reconstruction. After achieving Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Dermatology, he completed a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the University of Toronto, where he received a teaching award for his contributions to resident education.
