WHAT IS PSORIASIS?

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition that causes a change in the life cycle of our skin cells. It causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin where these extra skin cells form thick, silvery scales and dry, itchy, red plaques that can often be painful. Psoriasis is a chronic disease. This means that there may be times when your symptoms improve and then times when they worsen. First and foremost the goal of any treatment it to stop the skin cells from growing so rapidly. Even though there isn’t a cure, there are a variety of treatments that offer some relief.
