WHAT IS SEBORRHEIC KERATOSES?

Seborrheic Keratoses or Seb K’s for short are a non-cancerous sometimes warty looking growths found in older adults. They are often mistaken for ‘moles’ and appear as tan, brown, or even black growths on most areas of the body. They often have a ‘stuck on’ appearance and can even sometimes be peeled off. They do not become skin cancers but can sometimes mimic the look of one so it is a good thing to show them to your doctor. These lesions are painless and require no treatment but in some cases may become large or itchy and be can treated with cryotherapy or referred for laser treatment for purely cosmetic reasons.
